Foods are classified into categories like Unsaturated fats,  Saturated fats and  trans fat. The best of all for maintaining  good health is the food which contain unsaturated fats. Here, I would also like to mention that mainly total cholesterol  are of 2types. The good cholesterol  ( HDL )and bad cholesterol  (LDL).

In short, always remember, unsaturated fats are the best for all organs especially very good for heart related problems BP, CORONARY HEART DISEASE  etc as it reduces the LDL (bad cholesterol ) levels and increases the good cholesterol HDL levels in the body.

UNSATURATED FATS:

Unsaturated fats are classified again into Monounsaturated fats and Polyunsaturated fats. Food which contain Monounsaturated fats are mainly nuts  like Walnuts, Almonds, Pista, Peanut, Ovacado, macadamia nuts and Olive & canola oils.

Polyunsaturated fats: These are obtained mainly from vegetables  eg: Soybean oil, sunflower oil, corn oil and fish oil (Omega3fattyacid)

SATURATED FATS:

Foods under this category are mainly animal products like milk, meat, egg, seafood, chicken, pork. Others in this category arebutter, creams, chocholate, icecreams, cheese, cakes,  pork, potatochips, palm oil, coconut oil. These are the foods which should be avoided/ Consume less .

TRANSFATTY ACIDS:

These are packaged foods which are to be avoided totally. In this process of preparation,  vegetable oils are hardened as a result of hydrogenation as preservatives are added so as to provide better shelflife for packaged foods.  They are processed foods like Fast foods ( French fries etc), frozen Foods etc. Even  baked foods  like (cookies, donuts  etc)  are under this category.
